It’s adorable that you think OP has ever been touched by a woman that wasn’t his mom.
Yeah, I use it to wipe on my nose when I’m sick or my allergies are bad. It helps prevent it from getting all dried out from the tissues! I also rib a little on my hands sometime#, it goes a long way as a moisturizer. In summer I rub some between my toes if they get dried out.
A hot dog. Let the cheese warm to room temp, then toast the bun. Once your Weiner and Buns are both ready put the cheese inside the bun under the dog and it should melt nicely. Add whatever your hot dog toppings of choice are.
Also literally any kind of sandwich that cheese is good on is another safe bet. Also grilled cheese.
We all hurt, we all need, we all cry, we all bleed.
One of my favorite reminders that everyone has personal struggles.
Your concerns are valid, you absolutely will see your family less. If you’re not okay with that, that’s okay! Also keep in mind that the world is not on a night shift. It’s significantly harder to sleep normal hours when everything is going on the regular day schedule. That might not matter where you are but where I live that means more noise, more sirens, more people coming and going and keeping me awake. I’m a naturally light sleeper so when I had to work nights I had to go an extra mile or two. Blackout curtains are essential, and you may want to shove a towel under the door if the sun angle is unfavorable and shines it there. I also needed a facemask and ear plugs until I discovered I preferred a nice white noise maker. I still sleep with a white noise machine to this day, love it.
There are good things to night shift too. Less bullshit all around generally. Depending on what you’re doing that can be good or bad. It can be mind numbingly boring if you don’t have a set amount of work to do.
How to make small talk. I’m extroverted but I absolutely suck at small talk/casual conversations with people. I’m still not great about it, but it can be as easy as asking expanding questions about anything they said.
Solid tip, thanks mate!
You know it’s been about a decade before I have had a solid excuse to get someone with that. It’s one of the first great pranks I stumbled across on reddit. Seems fitting.
Good morning!
Lemmons is great! We should start a website or something. Maybe something fun like lemonparty.org!
it’s not really an option to simply not tip without being the bad guy
My man you have got to shake this from your psyche, that’s exactly how the employers that aren’t paying their employees want you to feel. You’re offloading their greed and systematic exploitation of working class people onto yourself under the misplaced guise of personal guilt. There may not a way to immediately fix the problem, but I can guarantee it will never get fixed if we dont change anything.
The “chat” community on most instances is another good rec, especially on the midsized ones. Like people ask Lemmy how-to or recommendation questions all the time. Neat as I can tell they’re mostly a catch all for conversations, so questions get asked a lot too.
That’s what I was saying when I first came to Lemmy. This is how reddit used to be. Before the digg migration it wasn’t uncommon to see the same posts on the front page for days at a time because they were so active. It also wasn’t uncommon to check it in the morning, and then see mostly the same posts that night. But, like here, usually the comments have developed and you can chat and have friendly banter with people. Reddit at that time I think still had loads more users than Lemmy does now, but the vibe was way more akin to what Lemmy is in its current state.
Idk about everyone else, but I sort by new on Lemmy and “all” WAY more than I ever would on reddit. Even sorting by new or all on reddit it just shuffles around the same 100 posts they want you to see. Here people post about all kinds of stuff!
Your most harm scenario is exactly what they want to do.
It’s SO boring.
