This may be the dumbest thing I have ever seen linked to on Lemmy, and that’s saying a lot when 80% of the users are lgbt with a Stalin fetish.

That’s my concern: a few hundred people are saying absolutely insane and bigoted things for attention (or possibly just mental illness) and you are choosing to believe them solely on the basis that they claim they are now Christian.

There is close to a billion people currently living who practice yoga. They aren’t making these claims. What, beyond sharing a religion with these hundred or so people, makes you believe a word they say despite being anomolies within the data?

What, beyond sharing a religion with these hundred or so people, makes you believe a word they say despite being anomalies within the data?

          Basically because imo,

          1. The masses hardly ever find something out. it’s the minority who do.
          2. The only deity in person to appear helping people in life threatening situations turns out the be Jesus the Christ. This community searches for ‘testimony <problem>’ on youtube. This script never finds buddha or vishnu saving people from suicide etc. So, these about yoga aren’t far fetched.
          3. Across the board, spiritual practices take another turn when Jesus appears(see all other topical searches)

To your first point, are you saying you think people who practice yoga as part of their faith know less about the practice than a small cluster of white Christian women?

              No.

              • it’s not about Christians in the first place. with ‘the minority’ i mean 0.1% of whatever group.
              • it’s not about knowing yoga, but about realizing the nature of their ‘spirit guides’

Actually, the lady in the video wasn’t even a believer of Christ to start with. Just like most of the people which testimonies appear on this channel

So you have realized more about yoga by the very fact that you trust the woman in this video than 99.9% of people who have ever practiced it?

                That’s illogical.

What is illogical to me is; To dismiss the outliers. They may have gone deeper into yoga than the majority. If you check such video’s you’ll realize they weren’t biased and went in to the practice with 200% commitment. Have you taken the time to check the search link i provided?

Realize that, seen historically, the majority is te group stopping progress of insight.
