Mary-Beth grew up surrounded by the supernatural: statues said to weep blood, apparitions, healing services in her own home, and a spiritual world she could sense but didn’t understand. At 17, she saw what she describes as a shadow figure with two white eyes in her bedroom. Years later, searching for answers, she visited a psychic whose prediction came true. Mary-Beth later called it “Satan’s matchmaking.”

After she came to Jesus, she joined a church that taught God no longer speaks outside of Scripture. So when a quiet voice told her, “You have pneumonia,” after giving birth, she ignored it three times. Five days later, her husband couldn’t wake her. She was rushed to the hospital with severe pneumonia, sepsis and a collapsed lung.
