Why Does God Allow Suffering? Cancer, Loss, and Faith Explored Through a Biblical Lens. Jan the Miracle Hunter and Pastor Steve Kim share raw stories and biblical truth on pain, doubt, and hope.
In this powerful and deeply personal conversation, Jan the Miracle Hunter sits down with Pastor Steve Kim to unpack one of life’s hardest and most-asked questions: Why does God allow suffering?
From atheism to unshakable faith, Jan shares her journey of wrestling with God in the midst of pain. Pastor Steve opens up about his own seasons of loss and illness—including the heartbreaking death of his father from cancer, his daughter’s diagnosis with a brain tumor, and his personal battle with colon cancer.
Together, they explore the theology of suffering from a biblical perspective, diving deep into topics such as: • The origin of suffering in Genesis and the role of human free will • How to interpret the Bible in context—especially the Book of Job • The role of Satan and demonic influence in human suffering • God’s redemptive plan through Jesus Christ • Understanding the balance between free will, consequences, and God’s unwavering love
This full-length interview is both scripturally grounded and emotionally raw, offering wisdom, clarity, and hope for those walking through grief, pain, or doubt. If you’ve ever asked, “Where is God when I’m hurting?”—this conversation is for you.
Key Takeaways: • Suffering is not punishment from God • Evil stems from human independence, not divine cruelty • God uses even the hardest moments for redemption • Faith is ultimately about personal encounter, not just intellectual understanding
