Am I losing it here, the Hot isnt tied to shit. I see where they bring it down, they tie it to the Neutral with that LED, the bar is right there, but there is no connection. Are they relying on just the ground to do that work here?? I dont know EU standards at all, just flummoxed as to why even run a Hot bar if you are not attaching to it.
edit I thought about for two seconds and was like this has to be hot, there should be no reason they switch the neutral.
Im not even looking there, look at the two prongs, one is hot, the other is going down towards the neutral rail (which its not connected to at all), then you have a LED that is connected to the hot then a resistor on the other leg that is solder to the neutral copper coming down. Still not connecting it to the neutral rail at all, they are just near each other, unless that plastic is conductive?
I did see the cap on both at the start, and yeah I assume that box is just a SPST.
Yeah, the rail isnt connected. I’m assuming there is an additional piece of copper on the plastic lid for which to bridge the area where there’s solder - looks quite intentional.
how weird, why set the extra bit of copper on the backplate? you already have a physical pressure point with that screw there? Having it on the backplate doesn’t add any safety to the overall product, it does add a weird wear point if you have a lot of movement in the plastic from temp or maybe a door hits it or something.

I think your confused by the blue capacitor which is attached to both live and neutral bus.
Also keep in mind the black box might be just a simple on/off switch.
Thats a metal oxide varistor. It conducts above 330v and hopefully trips the breaker to protect whatever is plugged in.
Yeah, youre right - its a surge protecting varistor. Dont know where I got the capacitor from - but, oh well.
