Yeah, the rail isnt connected. I’m assuming there is an additional piece of copper on the plastic lid for which to bridge the area where there’s solder - looks quite intentional.
how weird, why set the extra bit of copper on the backplate? you already have a physical pressure point with that screw there? Having it on the backplate doesn’t add any safety to the overall product, it does add a weird wear point if you have a lot of movement in the plastic from temp or maybe a door hits it or something.
