Rod Parker grew up around church but spent years living a double life that eventually pulled him into partying, destructive choices, and a dangerous lifestyle in Dallas. As a teenager, Rod became friends with Robbie Van Winkle, better known as Vanilla Ice, partying with him before his rise to fame and getting a firsthand taste of the celebrity lifestyle. Then one night, a violent confrontation left Rod fighting for his life. During what Rod describes as a near-death experience, he says his spirit left his body as he was rushed to Parkland Hospital. He watched from above as his own body was brought into the hospital before coming face-to-face with Jesus. What Jesus showed him about his life and where he was headed would stay with him forever.
