In this powerful Christian testimony, Sandielyn shares how Jesus carried her through abandonment, childhood abuse, spiritual darkness, rebellion, loss and deep emotional pain—and transformed her life into a testimony of forgiveness, restoration and purpose.
Born and raised in the Philippines, Sandielyn was abandoned by her mother when she was only a year and a half old. Her father struggled with drug addiction for many years before surrendering his life to Jesus, becoming a pastor and establishing churches that continue helping people today.
Sandielyn describes her first encounter with Jesus at the age of five, when she heard beautiful heavenly music and saw a radiant figure surrounded by light. Although she had not yet heard the Gospel, that experience left her with a deep longing for God.
Her childhood later became filled with abandonment, abuse, fear and exposure to pagan and occult practices. As she grew older, her pain turned into anger and rebellion. During college, she repeated an occult chant given to her by a friend, after which she began experiencing frightening spiritual encounters that caused her to leave her studies for several years.
In one terrifying experience, Sandielyn cried out to the name of Jesus and describes being immediately brought back to safety. Even while she felt ashamed and far from God, Jesus had not abandoned her.
After running away from home, she was welcomed into a Christian pastoral home. Through prayer, worship, Scripture and surrender, God began healing the deep wounds within her. She later completed college, reconciled with her family, forgave those who had hurt her and became a missionary in South Korea.
Sandielyn also shares how she endured homelessness, her husband losing his job, her daughter suffering seizures, a serious accident, miscarriage and the death of her father—all within one year. Yet through every loss, she continued declaring that God was still good.
Through another profound spiritual encounter, Jesus showed her that He had never left her during any season of pain. She learned to forgive others, forgive herself and release the distorted image of God created by her suffering.
Today, Sandielyn is an author, teacher and minister who helps people affected by brokenness, addiction, homelessness, imprisonment and trafficking. Her testimony is a reminder that God does not merely return us to where we started—He can restore our lives beyond what we ever imagined.
