This is the most personal story I’ve ever shared.

My dad was in the ICU, fighting for his life. As his only child, I was the one they looked to when it came time to make the hardest decision of my life—a decision between life and death. The doctors didn’t think he’d make it. But I refused to give up. I went to war in the spirit.

I began to speak life over him. I declared what the Word of God says:

“Because of His stripes, I am healed” (Isaiah 53:5) “Healing is the children’s bread” (Matthew 15:26) “The Lord will sustain me on my sick bed… He will restore me to full health” (Psalm 41:3) “Heal me, O Lord, and I shall be healed” (Jeremiah 17:14) “The effectual, fervent prayer of a righteous person avails much” (James 5:16) “I will restore health unto thee, and I will heal thee of thy wounds, says the Lord” (Jeremiah 30:17) “I will take away sickness from the midst of thee” (Exodus 23:25) “Who heals all your diseases” (Psalm 103:2-3) I didn’t have all the answers, but I had faith. I leaned on the Bible, and also a book called “Prayers That Work” by Kevin L. A Ewing, which helped guide my prayers with scripture-based declarations.

The Word of God is the most powerful and free tool anyone can use and apply to their life. It changed mine. It helped save my father. God is amazing—ALL glory to God!
