Un Dorian Gray sin pasado, ni patria ni bandera.
I’m just a guy in the #pnw who likes going on adventures, and playing games with friends.
Three things I love: the Oxford Comma, irony, and missed opportunities.

Increased probability that anything I put down or toss on the bed, etc, will fall off and hit the floor instead. In reality, it’s probably just a poor sense of propioception.
What’s the eye contact one? And how do you teach speed reading?
What was the bet?
I joined Mastodon a couple of times in 2018 but could never make it stick. Coincidentally rejoined last year just before the Twitter implosion, and maybe it was all the new people I was able to start using it in a way that made sense to me and rather enjoyed it, despite not using Twitter.
As soon as the writing was on the wall about the API changes, I created an account on Lemmy and here. That was end of May and the big migration happened end of June.
So tl;dr, I’ve been aware of it since 2018, but didn’t actually start using it until end of 2022.
I want the 70s to come back in many ways. The colors, the cuts, the flair, the patterns, the length.
I don’t know what any of those terms mean, but I support you in this!
For imgur check out Catbox. I haven’t used it person, but it might be closer to imgur than pixelfed which is supposed to be an IG replacement.
Huh, that is strange. I wonder if that one isn’t federating for some reason. I can find @canada@lemmy.ml
but @canada@lemmy.ca
turns up nothing. Neither does https://lemmy.ca/c/canada 🤔
Edit: I forgot there are issues with federation right now because of the cloudflare check. It should only be temporary. See Ernest’s post
It’s in the works! You can see a demo of it on kbin.pub. There’s a lot of things coming down the pike, but it’s still early and the dev is doing a lot keeping the place afloat at the moment with the reddit hug of death 😅
I’m also looking forward to it, but in the meantime using the mobile site as a PWA works pretty well if you haven’t already discovered that.
@community@instance.tld
that’s a more common way across the fediverse and also how you follow people, including those on other platforms like Mastodon and Calckey, etc.
I’ve been active on Mastodon/Calckey about the same amount of time. I never cared for microblogging sites before, but taking the time to find, follow, comment and make internet “friends” has really made it a pleasant experience.
Reddit I’ve been on since before the Digg migration, but was never super active there, more of a lurker. So I’m hoping to do better here as well.
If kbin.social does defederate from meta, you can migrate to another kbin server that hasn’t. That’s one of the nice things about the fediverse!
