I was aware of Mastodon and LibreTube, but didn’t associate them with the “Fediverse”, nor had any real grasp on what the Fediverse was.
My displeasure with Reddit led me to research the alternatives and do a deep dive down the rabbit hole.

I anticipate multiple waves to come over the next few years, as Reddit implements common strategies ahead of, or after, its IPO; including:
It’s all about the slow boil.
I may be in the minority here, but I don’t miss the sexual NSFW content from reddit at all. I was getting tired of seeing OF accounts posting semi-flirtatious things in completely unrelated subs in order to garner attention.
Intellectually, I think lemmy already has a good grasp on topics…but I do miss the daily video content of r/crazyfuckingvideos, r/publicfreakout, and r/idiotsincars.
Pusher 3, completing Nicolas Refn’s trilogy. All three films were great and I can’t believe I’d never heard of them until recently. Each provides a kind of day in the life perspective of someone involved in the Danish drug trade (circa '96-'05). Kim Bodnia, Mads Mikkelsen, and Zlatko Buric…great films!
So many to choose from…Linux, Syncthing, Vim, Firefox and Thunderbird/K-9 Mail, Keepass and derivatives, GrapheneOS, Inkscape, VLC/mpv, yt-dlp…there are just too many daily drivers to name them all.
