‘emotiinal blunting’
Good bot 🙂
Siiiigh. I don’t wanna. It’s true though.
Cold showers.
Especially after warm shower for the first half.
You should aim to barely be reacting. Focus on your breathing to distract your whole nervous system from the feeling of discomfort the cold water brings.
You’re training your body to not react to adverse events. To roadblocks, to shitty situations, to things that might otherwise derail you.
Cold showers are key.
Or, ya know… Batting cages.
It sees you like standup comedy (POTENTIALLY ANTI-WOKE) and gaming (POTENTIALLY INCEL) and in your 30s (LIKELY HAS SOME DISPOSABLE INCOME)
So it’s pipelining you to the annals of YouTube that check those boxes, have very good viewer retention and have good user engagement.
The ones with good user engagement are the ones that raise your blood pressure. They make you angry. So, politics, or dirty cops, interrogations, murder stories, stuff like that.
You can resist them all you want, but stuff that makes people angry and chatty and commenty and re-watchy is like cocaine to the algorithm. It makes them money, so they spam it everywhere it even remotely makes sense to try to get you stuck in their quicksand.
Gloves idk.
I use my $10 gardening gloves at the batting cages where they try and sell me on some $65 Franklin brand baseball bat glove grippers.
Dawg they’re gloves.
The goggles, the do nothing!
Please don’t tell anyone how I live!
I’ve heard that the internet is a series of tubes.
Can you confirm?
The all ighty …ollar?
Oh hahaha I get it!
Aw Lisa, honey, just because I don’t care doesn’t mean I don’t understand!
He’s not just some guy, marge, he’s a carny. And part of a noble tradition. Carnys built this country!
… The carnival part of it anyway.
punch to stomach
That’s for trying to take credit for other people’s work!
Yeah seasons 3 through 8 were the Conan O’Brien years. That’s the golden era.
But there are excellent episodes outside of that. I personally think “SE12 EP18 - Trilogy of Errors” is a top 5 episode. It’s the one where marge cuts off homer’s thumb, Milhouse finds fireworks in a cave and Lisa builds a party grammar robot. I haven’t seen enough of seasons beyond like 20 or so to comment on them, but Ive heard they’ve actually been hitting a solid stride since the pandemic.
Oh, don’t worry. Their idea of wit is nothing more than an incisive observation humorously phrased and delivered with impeccable timing.
No, just endless Simpsons references that fall on deaf ears.
On reddit, just about any comment made after 12:00 EST would very rarely get more than a few upvotes
So far in Lemmy I feel like my posts get better reach and interaction, which makes it feel like a better social environment.
Android’s Connect for Lemmy is buggy as fuck. I get errors just about every other thread. Open to other recommendations for a Lemmy app.
Following instances is kind of confusing.
Is there nsfw content?
It’s okay. I miss reddit, but it’s clear how steep a cliff they’re slipping off of.
So far, 6/10. Needs dramatic improvement. There are some nice differences, and overall I can see how it could eventually fill the void. Eventually. Want to re-emphasize that it needs a lot of work.
It’s a slow grind, but I suggest consulting. It sounds like you have a diverse set of skills that could be of use to some companies.
My method is to apply to jobs that I can tell barely need to hire someone. A small juice company hiring a full time web developer? lol, no. A shoe store that needs a network admin for 50k??! bro.
I apply to these jobs and instead of applying, I sell. I have a website setup that has projects, certs, resume, git, art projects (digital). It all shows I can do a lot of different stuff. I talk to them about their actual need, and suggest that an ad hoc relationship should work (if it could)
I have some clients at $150 a month and 2 hrs per month, plus $75/hr after 2 hrs. I have some clients at $1500 a month, and 20 hrs per month. More like $200/hr beyond agreement. I assess on case by case basis.
I have 12 clients. I have a guaranteed $5000+ a month. I don’t work that much. Sometimes I have to cancel plans to work an emergency all nighter (if I fucked up…)
I have outsourced work before as well.
It’s taken me since 2019 to get here. I’ve tended a lot of bar since then to make ends meet, but it’s working now.
