But how can you know you’re dead once you’re dead then?
How do you know you died if everything was dark?
Its weird how one just know stuff in dreams despite having no evidence. Sometimes I might even realise it was false when I wake up, despite being completely sure its true while in the dreaming.
I have no idea why I remember this. Its literally my second memory in life and it happened before I was put in foster home, so I can’t have been older than 5 most likely 4.
I was in my grandmother’s living room. And on a table I see a candle. But instead of a flame on top theres a tiny wax figure of some fruit. Curious I decide to touch it, but when I do it falls over, and the living room starts burning! And theres where I woke up, I think.
I got a feeling this was more than just a dream. Regret I wasn’t able to confirm that before my biological grandmother and mother died. I had time but I never did ask.
I got a few other non-dream memories from back then too. Three of those I’ve confirmed later that was true. So I know its possible to form permanent memories at that age.
Modafinil works great for me. Not a legal drug where I live, unfortunately, and near impossible to get past the toll after the covid for some reason.
But “it” is the thing I like.
I dont think I’m addicted yet, but I’m certainly been checking Lemmy more often than I used to check Reddit. Also I’m active on Mastodon while I barely used to touch Twitter. It’s because its something new and fresh and active. I’ll probably tire of it soon.
If you’re a Star Trek fan, @JeriLRyan@mastodon.world and @georgetakei@universeodon.com is there.
If you’re a dev, maybe @JenMsft@mastodon.social or @codinghorror@infosec.exchange or @SwiftOnSecurity@infosec.exchange or @shanselman@hachyderm.io ? @jonskeet@hachyderm.io is also there but not very active.
If you’re a retro gamer, @grumpygamer@mastodon.gamedev.place is pretty active.
Literature fan? Im a fan of @MicroSFF@mastodon.art . And @neilhimself@mastodon.social do sometimes reply there.
If you did, I’d absolutely follow you. Stuff like that is fun to read. @emptyother@oslo.town Im not big on asking for help though.
Dont know about you but I find @MissingThePt@mastodon.social funny.
Yeah no, the default app doesn’t have this feature for some weird unknown reason.
Smaller govts, like here in Norway, is just people doing what they can and has been educated to do. This faceless govt that a lot of people are describing, I cant imagine it here. It is built of people anyone can talk to. So yes, the government and the system cares about us as a whole. Not for me personally, though. Common good.
Some politicians and govt workers are completely self-serving, of course, even here.
Ow. That one hurt.
But I do non-pointless tricks too. Soon. I’m just waiting for the less technical people to find Lemmy so I can help them with weird tech problems and easy programming questions. Like I did on that other site.
Counter point: Any creator blindly putting random ad networks on their site doesn’t care about their users. Every ad should be vetted and served by the creator, those kinda ads are impossible to mass-block. If an ad swindles a user, it should be the creators reputation thats at stake.
I stopped having a bad conscience for blocking when one blog who begged promised to not autoplay any audio. The very next day it of course showed a very loud ad, and the creator excused it with “he didn’t have any control over what the advertisement network showed”.
My mother told me cats reacted better to names if it began with ‘S’. So we had Sara, Sigurd, Severin, Suveren, Seraph and a few others I no longer remember.
If I ever get an apartment big enough to have pets, I’ll probably continue the tradition.
