Indeed, be the change you want to see in the world.
That aside, life does become more bearable when you build up your skillet, make more money, and are able to mesh into the bullshit with a bit more ease, which in turn helps to afford more fun which helps tune out the bullshit. Unfortunately, the assholes have made the game about money, so the sooner one comes to grips with that and starts playing into it a bit, life becomes a little more manageable. It sucks, but it is what it is.

Definitely agree. To your point on new things, I still feel that sense of awe and wonder when I go on trips to places I’ve never been, hear an awesome song for the first time, or even learn something new. It takes a certain level of motivation to feel those senses as you age (mid 30s here), and determination to seek those things out. I know I am lucky in that I’m at a stage in life where I have the resources to make some of these happen, but a lot of it is also forcing the free time to both seek out experiences and also be able to appreciate them.
Unless you like whacking people off all day.
You sound like a straight shooter with upper management written all over ya.
A 1000’ box of cat6 was is I think $150 or so. A couple of those and a couple weekends of your time = profit. Plus it frees up your wifi for phones/tablets/laptops/etc.
Didn’t Space Ghost Coast to Coast predate Adult Swim?
That final scene… Lol
And what’s worse is how that’s spilled into everyday life. Movies like Blazing Saddles and Revenge of the Nerds would get obliterated if they were released today. Everyone’s immediate reaction to something they find unseasonable is to go absolutely nuts and cancel it instead of “huh, whatever.”
I still think we need to take most of the safety signs down and let darwinism take its course.
No god damn pop up’s
We must have been on a different internet, popups back in the day were atrocious, and this was before adblockers were effective.
One thing I enjoyed about myspace was how much you could personalize your page with even just a smidge of html-fu. I knew some people that got so good that you wouldn’t even know you were still on myspace unless you looked at the address bar.
Aside from everything? The internet.
But can your mini split run doom?
I’m from So Cal, and while the tap water is technically safe to drink, it’s pretty gross (high chlorine and hard mineral content), so we always had a filter. Having since moved to the mountains, we drink right from the tap, though usually in summer we’ll use a Brita filter due to chlorine.
Just couldn’t help yourself, eh? Lol
True, but there’s also a lovely Venn diagram where a significant overlap exists. No one’s perfect, but a certain mindset definitely leans more towards being a dick to people than not.
I’ve seen a few, but they were mostly contained to more random offshoot instances, and those stirring up bullshit were booted pretty quick.
I think the inherent instance ownership gives admins a greater sense of pride to keep their localities positive, and a lot off us are still feeling from what reddit became in the last 5ish years and there’s a communal sense of keeping that outta here.
And yes, at least for now. Hopefully those marketing ploys are readily apparent and get kicked to the curb quickly.
Is it already that time of the year?
