I seem to hear more and more about stoicism lately. I might check it out sometime.

The movie wasn’t terrible, just a regular stoner movie, but the soundstrack was indeed leagues better than the movie. It’s hard to match perfection though.
Is this another (real human) bean meme?
Why bother? Don’t bother! What can you do about climate change? What can you do about animals going extinct? What can you do about the economy?
Nothing!
So if you can’t do anything about it, it’s not worth fretting about. You should worry about your life! Care for your family. Care for your friends. Do your best at school or work. Try to grow in life by learning new things. Try to gain as many new experiences as you can. Set a goal (not too big) and work towards that. Set a new goal and work towards that.
The point I’m trying to make is to stop worrying about the big problems in the world and focus on the little things, because the little things are what matter. You can still support Greenpeace or XR, you can vote, you can donate, but there’s not much more you can do. If you waste your life worrying about things you can’t influence and wither away in depression, everybody looses.
I was a truck driver, went back to school and now I work in an office. The most shocking was how nice and relaxed everyone was and how my manager actually cares about my wellbeing and about my development. It took me a good year to get used to that.
If you want to feel secure, you should unlearn everything you know about security. That’s the only way.
Agreed. If you live in an ovenhouse, ventilation is your friend. You can’t keep the heat out, but your can keep it moving
Yeah! I don’t want to accidentally throw a redneck bonfire with white smoke again.
What does it mean?
Thanks. Did you know Netflix is producing a series about Three Body Problem?
A clock running backwards turns left and is therefor never right.
It’s definitely a classic that everyone should read at least once
Sounds great. I’m a hard scifi fan, but I haven’t read this one. It’s going on my list.
Brandon Sanderson is definitely one of the greats of this era of fantasy writers.
I’m not much of a reader, but I read to my daughter (9). We just finished The Hobbit and have now started the first chapter of The Lord Of The Rings (I also read the prolog, where all peculiarities about hobbits are mentioned. She endured it, but she didn’t like it much)
As a kid, age 8-10 or so, I used have a recurring dream about a girl who lived next door. I would go play outside with her. We’d play something different every night. The funny thing was that I had no girl living nextdoor. I lived in a rural area outside a small town with no families with kids around.
Years later I see this girl in a bar, we’re both 17 at this point. She looks exactly like the girl from my dreams, only a bit older. We’re now married and we have 2 kids.
I was looking for some eletrical component for my arduino and the only place that had it was aliexpress. That was a pleasant surprise. Three months later I still got almost daily spam mail from them. I block the mail address, but they just generate a new address to spam me with. Lukily it has stopped now. I’m never buying there again if I can help it.
Worst. Bot. Ever. I mean, look at all those click bait tags.
