Bhey bave bood baste
I just rewatched it for the first time, a few weeks back. It was absolutely glorious, proper lightning in a bottle comedy
That scene where Jez ‘forgets’ the Christmas turkey still makes me laugh till I have tears in my eyes, no matter how many times I watch it. When someone misunderstands me and starts ranting, I usually reply “It was a joke, Mark. A christmas joke.” I’m sure 99% of the time people have no fucking clue what I’m referring to
Only a complete smeghead would rewatch Red Dwarf
You prob know this already, but the new season of What We Do In The Shadows has just started. Laughing my socks off already two episodes in
I generally don’t re-watch shows. But those two I’ve seen three times, they’re just so fucking funny!
I’ve been subscribed to swearnet a couple of months now. It’s definitely not the same as the scripted energy of the shows but it kinda scratches the TPB itch as they’re all in character. It’s only £3 a month, plus it’s nice to know the money is going directly to the content creators.
people who are irrationally argumentative. Even when they agree with you, their sentence starts with "No, " and it drives me nuts
people who litter, especially people who litter with a bin in sight. People who let their dog shit and walk away I guess also fall under this category
people who hate others because of their sexuality, gender or race
Once, I ate come cookie dough ice cream that was too cold and it bent the spoon
This was back in the 90s… we figured out a simple way to make ‘empty’ files using the spacebar ascii and qbasic. We’d have a simple interface, flashing cursor, and you’d type in a number; it would then create an ‘empty’ file of that many MB.
Of course being 14 yr old little shits, we wondered, how big can the file be? Someone created a file big enough that first it filled the student partition; then the teacher partition; then the temp partition; then the system partition, at which point the entire network slowed to a transfer speed of a couple of bytes. When we realised we could do this, it was happening several times a week.
After that, anyone caught with a blank screen and flashing cursor got in deep shit. They deleted the attrib command so we couldn’t un-read-only / un-hidden things, but we just copied it from our own DOS at home and brought it in on a floppy drive
I love to read. As a young teen, I read lots of religious texts. As an autistic teen I found religious people illogical and wanted to understand them better. Old / new testament, buddhist dhamapada, hindu vedas, quran AND hadith (you need to read the hadith to understand historical context of many surah).
I’ve also lived amongst muslims for most of my life. Taken at face value, it’s a horrible, divisive, violent religion and imo with exception of some genuinely peaceful sects (eg ahmadi, who are considered not real muslims by majority) is not very compatible with modern western societies.
Everyone should take the time to read the quran, educate yourselves. Learn which surah are abrogated by later ones, and which parts majority sects live their lives by. You might be shocked or surprised. FWIW I think all fundie religions are incompatible with modern western societies, before you think I’m singling islam out.
My favourite excerpt from islamic texts is from hadith, might not have it word for word but it’s when Mohammed wants a new wife, suddenly gets a commandment from god that it’s allowed, and his wife (Aisha) says “Oh how your god rushes to fulfil your whims”. Even she knew it was bullshit.
Must admit, once I’m out of the moment, I can reflect and find it funny, but in a “damn I feel kind of sorry for you, something must have happened in your early life to make you like this” way
