If the goal is fiber production, rather than going through the expensive chemical mess of turning lignin into rayon we could just… grow fiber? Hemp and linen make excellent fast growing, long staple, durable fibers that require minimal processing.

I’m really pleased by how many are starting anew on Lemmy. I giggled like a little kid when I saw HydroHomies was already up.

There is a writing community here on Beehaw. Someone posted a link to a list of Fediverse communities and I saw a couple more listed. They exist, and I’m sure there’ll be more soon!

Bring back stick-shift, too. People shouldn’t be driving if they have no grasp of the mass and inertia of their car. We should be able to disengage the engine at will. And we should have to pay attention when we drive.

Lems have wide high-volume toe boxes with relatively narrow heels. Could be worth a look.
