  • Your interests have a strong correlation with people on the right aside from maybe react videos.

But even if your interested were not so strongly correlated with the right, you would probably still get right wing ads or videos suggested. They garner the highest engagement because it is often outrage porn. Google gets their money that way. My subscriptions are to let wing political channels, science, and solar channels but I still get a decent amount of PragerU and Matt Walsh ads. Reporting then does not stop them from popping up either.

  • I finally dropped my S10e too many times. I tried switching to my backup phone which was a Pixel 2 but it is pretty limited in terms of bands for my carrier. So I bought a Pixel 6a. I would love a Zenfone 9 but it is a tad pricey.

Would I have upgraded of my phone hadn’t died? Probably. It stopped receiving security updates. The battery was starting to not last all day. There were some things it was starting to get slow on. The camera was okay in good lighting but shit in bad lighting.

Newer phones are not actually selling all that well. Still good but there aren’t really likes it the door on release day like there used to be. People are keeping their phones for a lot longer now or opting for midrange ones.

  • I have recently started to enjoy taking bike rides. I used to do it before with friends and didn’t mind it but it was not super enjoyable. It likely had to do work the fact that they would always do 40 mile bike rides that had a decent amount of hills. None of us have time for bike rides that long anymore. But a nice 10 mile bike ride is a nice but of time to just clear my head and enjoy looking one way and seeing the Cascades and looking the other way and seeing the Sound and the Olympics.

I have heard of runner’s high and read a good explanation for it that I don’t remember. Regardless, I don’t get runner’s high and honestly hate running. Even with a podcast in, I can’t get myself to like it. It might be a bit better if I did it more often but that is a big hump to get past.

  • I’ve hit a couple snags like fprintd not working despite my fingerprint reader being supported and also getting Lutris setup. Still need to try printing and testing out my stylus I find it.

My main gripe is more with the community. Too many users are a bit pompous or assume way too much. I’ve already run into a bit of that. Linux has made a ton of progress with ease of use and polish. But a lot of it is still done by people volunteering their time so some issues are expected. It’d be nicer if people were a little more friendly when you stumble across those issues.
