That’s the neat part: you don’t.
Truthfully, it’s a huge thing to ask an eighteen-year-old to plan for the rest of their life over the next couple of years. For some people, they might need to take a year or two off before even thinking about going to school again; others, they might go to a trade school instead, or just not even bother with college all together.
I think the “best general advice” I would give is to just try out community college for a bit and take classes, join clubs, and/or participate in activities that interest you - don’t even worry about gen ed stuff until you’re sure you want to continue into a 4-year college for a bachelor’s or higher degree. Start working jobs that either genuinely interest you or offer a decent wage & benefits so you can at least have some sort of “work experience” to fall back on, and just explore stuff that interests you or sounds interesting. And if you’re in the camp of “I don’t have any interests”, then do random shit and see what sticks or not.
In general, I think the worst thing to do after high school is nothing and stay stuck in the same position in life. As long as you’re doing something that you want to do, that’s gonna be a step in the right direction.
Robes, or whatever it is that Olgeird wears in The Witcher. Those would look fresh as hell and it would be nice to have an outfit to throw on like a dress.
Adding on to the Windows Defender bit: it’s also a very good antivirus, so you can pretty much just get away with that and an adblocker on your browser of choice. Been running Firefox with uBlock Origin and Windows Defender for years now at this point and have not had a single virus nor infection on my computer - and I used to use Norton and Avast before that.
That being said, if you’re the kind of person that goes onto hella sketchy sites a lot of the time, might be worth looking into a paid antivirus.
@StrictMachine Dunno if it would even be possible, but it would be cool to be able to somehow be able to categorize each instance/magazine with a limited amount of tags - like each book- or literature-related instance could have a “Book” or “Literature” tag that would basically add it to a view of every single instance with the tag in it, so users could look up tags versus looking up specific instances.
I literally just deleted my account as of a few minutes ago. Read the thread from Christian about him shutting down the Apollo app, read the thread about how shit the Reddit team was treating him (and presumably, they probably treated other third-party devs similarly), and decided that since I was trying to quit Reddit anyways, might as well pull the plug now.
I’ve been eying out the Fediverse stuff for a while now, but that was the final push to go and join this place to trial it out and see how I like it.
Pay off all debts and mortgages for myself and my immediate family, then put away whatever’s away into separate HYSAs for a few months to let the initial rush go away.
