Hello.
Depends how sensitive you are to caffeine. I strongly suspect sensitivity to blue light is similarly varied between individuals. I am not a doctor, however, and I honestly don’t give enough fucks to try to convince you.
Half was a rhetorical estimate to attempt to communicate a basic idea, not an attempt to use an accurate academic term. Look it up if you want to know more, quit arguing with me. What I am describing is not new or cutting edge. We have oodles of data you can look at.
Not exclusively, the body’s systems are far more complex and interconnected than that. It’s really just the need to have some kind of nighttime for your overall well-being. It’s what we evolved around.
It’s one of the markers that your brain uses to control its circadian rhythms. During half of your 24 hour cycle its fine. Our devices push that balance too far though, contributing to stress and insomnia by disrupting that regulatory mechanism.
Wouldn’t be too different from living in the artic circle during the summertime, except without blackout shades and we’re doing it to ourselves with tvs, computers and mobile devices.
I think of them as people with a job to do. Some do it well, others do it less well. This is normal.
He’s no master chef, but he’s an okay businessman and very skilled marketer.
Personally I think he’s annoying, and belongs in some random decade fron last century instead of the current one.
It’s good for knuckles that crack and bleed in the winter. Lotion isn’t really good enough unless you’re applying it multiple times a day.
Nothing can go faster than the speed of light, not even fahrenheit temperature units.
Rather than try myself, I’ll let a bunch of school teachers and librarians do it instead. They’re better than I am.
Captain America.
No, it is it’s own designation. It’s halfway between OC and a repost.
So, that’s kinda just how meme culture works in larger communities. It’s extremely iterative. What happened is all those old posters are still around, they just switched to making content using older templates, and reminiscing about their favorites of the past.
This is a pretty big wave, this isn’t beans or something, this took over almost the whole Lemmyverse, so it’ll probably leave a minor lingering popularity. My guess is it should mostly be passed in another couple days or so, when people start running a little lower on content. The number of good ones is large, but fundamentally finite.
Meme culture is less the standard human-herd behavior and something quicker and more unitary. It’s best visualized as a huge flock of birds or school of fish. Who’s in charge and where is it going? No clue. It’s going there though.
Do I get this weird, puffy-looking robot that goes “Danger!!” every time it spots any?
I’ve read a few over the years and always enjoyed them. They’re never amazing or anything imo, I’ve never run into one that knocked it out of the park or anything, but I’m not a huge Star Wars fan anyway.
But they also kinda get a baseline level of decent worldbuilding and natural conflict that keeps them from being dull or anything.
If I was, say, in an airport and needed to buy a book, it’s exactly what I would reach for if I saw it. Favorite was the one that followed and explained Mace Windu.
Claire
Never met a Claire I didn’t like.
It’s not free, but you have to pay for it no matter what, so it kinda is, but cooking. Everyone should learn the basics of navigating a kitchen and the basic terminology.
Singing and dancing are both learnable free. Art in general tends to be cheaper. Usually anyway.
Intellectual skills are all fair game, there’s wide availability online. You need to start with Information Literacy though, to kinda unlock the rest. Otherwise you’ll waste too much time on bullshit.
Lemmies are the Instances themselves, actually. Lemmy.world, lemmy.ml, beehaw.com are all Lemmies/Instances/Servers. The terms are used interchangeably, with most calling them Instances.
White bread, mildly flavored meats, mild soups.
Our “cheese” has a very mild flavor, overall, but melts thoroughly and very quickly, which is mainly what we use it for. This is why you find it on things like grilled cheese and cheeseburgers, but if you see a slice cold it’s a little extra sad, since you’re missing out on the one thing it’s actually good at.
He’s alright. Kind of a douche, but I’ve made a couple of his southwestern recipes and dude knows what he’s talking about. They were good. I would eat at one of his places.
