Iirc their diets are highly specialized too. It’s not what everyone thinks. You can just give them lettuce and the occasional fruit.

I’d say most animals mask their illness/injuries well, unfortunately. Pet owners really need to know their pet well and see the very subtle changes most of the time.

Cats and dogs are surprisingly some of the least labor intensive pets. Things like rabbits, reptiles, birds, etc are all effectively exotic pets. Not all veterinaries can or will treat them. They have highly specialized diets, and social structures. They tend to have pens or cages that need regular deep cleaning. So on and so forth.

There’s also a personal preference at play. Personally, I’m a cat person. Dogs are adorable, when they are someone else’s.

Obviously, if you’re allergic to dogs/cats, that probably rules them out (I’m allergic to cats and have 2 but my allergy is relatively mild).

Being able to believe more things. It used to be pretty apparent when you were looking at a computer modified image. With all the deepfakes, bots, AI, etc I assume absolutely nothing is real or accurate info.

Yeah, I was going with the easy way to say it, but yeah. It’s not about showing you who they are, as much as not really giving a shit about you, and being tired of having to act like the nice person, they are trying to make you think they are. As long as they are getting what they want, they are going to do as little as possible.

It usually takes about 6 months to a year for the mask to start slipping, and then full blown asshole/abuse happens much more rapidly. In my experience.

I’ve dated plenty of shitty human beings, some were physically abusive, some emotionally/mentally and the super fun ones were both. Not making excuses for my decisions, but I was young, had never seen what a healthy relationship looked like, and had only seen shitty humans/abusive people as “loved ones” before.

Edit: abusive/assholes CAN be VERY charming. They figure out how to get what they want, and then once they think they have you “locked” they start showing you who they really are. Hell, they usually show you small glimpses pretty early on, but at least for me, they also make you believe that you’re crazy/wrong for the spidey sense tingling.

I admittedly haven’t looked at the MacBooks since I bought my surface, but size and storage/processing were a large part of my decision. Plus I struggle with some of the Mac gestures. I honestly can’t get past the lack of right click, HOWEVER windows is doing some seriously annoying dumb shit lately, so I’ll look at the MacBook again, when my surface dies.

Every other computer I interact with is on windows. All the software we have is windows (I’m not sure how subscription services work for switching OS).

All I’m saying is it’ll take some doing to switch over, and they hadn’t been worth it to me in past researching. Just like I’d struggle to switch from the Apple phone/watch/AirPod situation.

I know, I’ve used macs/MacBooks before. There are a handful of gestures I can’t get used to. And at this point, I’ve got everything setup, and all the software setup for what I’ve got. I actually really like my surface.

Early non iPhones weren’t always that way.

Because ive been sucked into the Apple universe (except my laptop. I just can’t).

Plus, and honestly more importantly, you take it out of the box and it just works.

Oh, and I can’t stand/understand googles UI no matter how hard I try. It’s just not I that I’ve to me.
