My recommendation is to read these books I have listed above to grasp a firm understanding of how the bible works and how it transforms you and sanctifies you. I would also recommend to spend as much time as possible reading the word of God in a translation you clearly understand and not just relying on a preacher preaching a message to you but you alone getting in the word and spending time reading for yourself. You will gain tremendous knowledge and understanding by doing this and it will be hard to get you believing in false teachings from pastors.
